2-Methyl Resorcinol is used as medicine, pesticide, dye intermediate, hair auxiliary, etc.
2-Methyl Resorcinol is used to prepare aromatic benzoporphyrins, tripyran analogs and C-5-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl calix 2-methyl Resorcinol. In addition, it is also used in both oxidizing and non oxidizing hair dye formulations.
